ATHLETIC THERAPY
CLINICAL PILATES
Whether you are seeing us for exercise prescription, preventative health, after surgery, or for injury rehabilitation, your assessment will include a look at your entire chain of movement, posture, past medical history, recreational activities, work and lifestyle demands, and wellness goals. With these factors in mind, our Athletic Therapist will work with you to help set achievable goals through a personalized treatment plan.

Clinical Pilates is unique in that it allows you to experience movement therapy with a professional who is able to combine Pilates principles with their sound knowledge of anatomy, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Your most optimal movement pattern will be explored with an emphasis on effective breathing, alignment, core, pelvic stability, balance, and control.

Active Rehab
Active rehabilitation is an evidence-based exercise program that involves client’s active participation in their recovery.
Active rehabilitation aims to restore function and strength to the injured areas of the body and allow individuals to return to work, sports or normal daily life.
Active rehabilitation is ideal for the repair of joints, muscles, soft tissues and the nervous system.

About
Jessica Fuhr BAT, CAT(C), Calibrate Clinical Pilates Instructor
Born and raised in Nelson, Jessica followed her passion for health and fitness by completing her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic and Exercise Therapy in 2012 and becoming a certified athletic therapist in the same year. Growing up playing sports, Jessica realized the impact that injuries can have in preventing people from living full and active lives.
Jessica spent many years working at a multidisciplinary clinic in Vancouver. She credits this experience with expanding her understanding of the everyday athlete. Working side by side with Physio, Massage, Yoga therapist as well as Pilates instructors expand her understanding of the many different approaches to recovery. As a therapist, jessica believes in a one-on-one treatment approach, with individualized treatment programs tailored to the client. Her therapy style includes a mix of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, including Pilates.
For a number of years, Jessica utilized her training to volunteer with football, soccer, rugby and basketball teams to name a few. Through this, she had the opportunity to develop quick on-field assessment and treatment techniques. In addition, she developed a great appreciation for the importance of injury prevention for athletes.
